Dubai: England captain Joe Root played a fine innings of 180* against India in the Lord’s Test, which has benefited him in the latest Test rankings released by the ICC. Kane Williamson is the No.1 batsman in the MRF Tires ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings and is now just 8 ratings points short of Joe Root. Joe Root started the series in fifth place. He overtook Indian captain Virat Kohli after the first Test. Virat Kohli remains in fifth place among the batsmen.

After this, Joe Root gained two places after scoring a century in the second Test and he now has 893 rating points, which is only 8 points less than Kane Williamson. KL Rahul, who was the player of the match in Lord’s Test, has also got great success. Rahul, who scored 129 in the first innings, gained 19 places to reach number 37.
