What did both the captains say after the toss
Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first. After the toss, Sri Lankan captain Shanaka said that we have decided to bowl first. Have played on this pitch before. The pitch was covered on Tuesday night, so the bowlers may get some help initially. At the same time, India’s captain Dhawan said that we would have batted first, so I am happy. There are four debutants in our team, who have been included after the main players are isolated. However, it is giving opportunities to young players. We are ready to face the challenges.
Four players will debut for India
Many important players of India have had to be isolated due to close contact with Corona infected Krunal Pandya. It includes the names of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw, Deepak Chahar, Krishnappa Gautam, Ishan Kishan and Yuzvendra Chahal. At the same time, Sri Lanka has made two changes in their team. Sri Lanka have included Ramesh Mendis and Sadara Samarawickrama in the playing XI in place of Charit Aslanka and Ashen Bandara.
Match had to be postponed for a day
Let us inform that the second T20 of India and Sri Lanka was to be played on Tuesday. But the match was postponed for a day due to all-rounder Krunal Pandya being found corona positive. The all-rounder is currently in isolation and has been ruled out of the series. As per Sri Lanka’s health safety protocol, Krunal will not be able to return home with the rest of the Indian team on July 30. They will have to wait for negative RT PCR after completing mandatory isolation.
