Microsoft is going to make major changes in the Windows operating system for personal computer (PC) users. It is believed that Windows 11 will debut on June 24. Microsoft says this is its next generation of Windows. The new update is going to bring the visuals of Windows. Currently, Microsoft’s latest operating system is Windows 10. Windows 10 was launched in the year 2015. However, in the last 6 years many changes have been made in it. Find out below what might be new in Windows 11.

According to the Indian Express, videos and pictures of Microsoft’s upcoming operating system have been leaked online ahead of the Windows 11 launch. Based on the leaked screenshots, the next generation of Windows has a new Start menu, home screen, startup sound and Mac-like vibe. The Verge downloaded a copy of Windows 11 Build 21996.1, and got it right. It is said that Windows 11 adopts the visual changes found in Windows 10X, a new operating system that Microsoft was working on to rival Google Chrome OS.

When is Windows 11 Coming?

Microsoft is expected to announce the ‘next generation of Windows’ on June 24. The event will be conducted online at 11 am (8:30 hrs IST). The high-profile event will be attended by Satya Nadella and Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay. But it cannot be said that the next version of Microsoft’s Windows operating system has a release date.

Start Menu and Taskbar

The centered start menu design allows Windows to refresh as much as it needs. The Start menu has been simplified. Instead of live tiles you now see standard icons that show your pinned apps, and even recommend apps and files. The task bar has also been redesigned in Windows 11. It has the same start menu, default icons and search bar as Chrome OS. There is a dedicated button in the taskbar for adding widgets.

Windows and menus show slightly rounded edges. Meanwhile, the folder icons are more colorful. Animations look and feel fluid. Also, Microsoft has new system sounds in Windows 11. Classic Windows features such as Control Panel and Task Manager will continue to be part of Microsoft’s next generation of Windows.
