After the central government, the Rajasthan government today (July 14) decided to increase the dearness allowance of its employees. The Rajasthan government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of state employees and pensioners from 17% to 28% of the basic salary. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave this information by tweeting. CM Gehlot tweeted that it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance of Rajasthan government employees and pensioners from 17% to 28%. This rate of dearness allowance will be valid from July 1, 2021. Despite the difficult circumstances of Kovid, the state government will spend about Rs 4000 crore annually on this decision to support the employees.
It may be noted that the Central Government has today decided to reinstate Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for central employees and pensioners with effect from July 1, 2021. Along with this, the rate of dearness allowance has been increased from 17% to 28%. Its decision was taken in the meeting of the Central Committee chaired by PM Modi. Later, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur confirmed the restoration of DA and DR of central employees and pensioners by holding a press conference.
The central government has increased the basic pay/pension of central employees by 11% over the current rate of 17%. It will be effective from 1 July 2021. But no arrears of Dearness Allowance withheld during January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 will be paid. The government had stopped 3 installments of DA and DR. These installments were due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
