So former India captain Rahul Dravid will play the role of head coach of the senior national team for the first time. Shikhar Dhawan will captain the Indian team for the first time. He will become the 40th captain of India.

Five new faces have got a chance in the Indian team going to Sri Lanka. Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana, Krishnappa Gautam and Chetan Sakaria will be part of the senior Indian team for the first time. In this way, India’s tour of Sri Lanka is going to be very special in a new way.

The Indian team will play a total of 6 limited overs matches on the Sri Lanka tour. A three-match ODI series will start between the two countries from July 13 and will be followed by a series of three T20 Internationals. The first, second and third ODI will be played on June 13, 16 and 18 respectively. This will be followed by three T20 Internationals on 21, 23 and 25 July respectively.
