Saudi Arabia blow to pakistan| Saudi Arabia gave such a blow to Pakistan that neither swallow nor spew, Russia is not behind it! Saudi Arabia has dealt a big blow to both China and Pakistan
Pakistan’s Gwadar Port
- Saudi Arabia’s decision not to set up a proposed 10 billion dollar oil refinery in Gwadar
- Saudi Arabia signed the agreement for this project in February 2019.
- This decision of Saudi Arabia has dealt a big blow to both China and Pakistan.
Saudi Arabia has given such a blow to Pakistan, which is going to hit it very deeply, it is being told that it has decided not to build an oil refinery to be built at Gwadar Port of Pakistan. It is being said that Saudi is now considering making this project in Karachi instead of Gwadar.
Recently, Pakistan’s Special Adviser on Energy and Oil Affairs, Tabish Gauhar had said that Saudi Arabia will no longer build an oil refinery in Gwadar, according to him, Saudi Arabia will now build an oil refinery in a petrochemicals complex located near Karachi. The refinery is expected to be ready in the next five years.
It may be noted that Saudi Arabia had signed the agreement for this project in February 2019, while it is being said that the decision to shift the project to Karachi shows the lack of infrastructure in Gwadar.
Is there a big reason behind this decision in Russia?
Indications are being taken out in Pakistan that Russia can be a big reason behind this, Russia was also talking about investment in Pakistan’s energy sector and perhaps that is why Saudi Arabia has backtracked. They had promised to invest a lot of money in different energy projects but they did not work.
Big blow to both China and Pakistan due to the decision
Saudi Arabia’s decision has dealt a major blow to both China and Pakistan, as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor or China’s Belt and Road Initiative is believed to have failed to promote Gwadar as a mega-investment hub.
