New Delhi: A highly condemnable act of barbaric fanatics has come out from Pakistan, it is being told that the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, installed in the famous Lahore Fort, was once again attacked, it is being told that This attack has been done by the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Islamic organization in the country.
In this 9 feet statue made of bronze, Ranjit Singh is sitting on a horse and holding a sword in his hand, it is said that the attacker also raised slogans against Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
The members of the radical group Tehreek-e-Labbaik attacked the statue and then dismantled it. On getting information about the incident, the police have detained the accused who carried out the attack.
Expressing huge displeasure over this incident, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has condemned the incident by tweeting and has also demanded strict action.
This incident caused huge anger among the people in Punjab.
In this 9 feet bronze statue, Ranjit Singh is seated on a horse and with a sword in his hand, he is seen sitting in the garb of Sikhs. There is a lot of anger among the people in Punjab due to this incident and Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has taken strong cognizance. The SGPC said that vandalizing the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Lahore is highly condemnable, such an incident is affecting mutual goodwill.
