Colombo: The second T20 International match will be played between India and Sri Lanka on Wednesday (July 28), which was postponed after the Kovid-19 case surfaced in the visiting team. All-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be Kovid-19 positive on Tuesday, after which the series was in trouble. However, the BCCI decided to go ahead with the series while eight Indian players are in isolation due to Krunal’s close contact.

Contrary to reports, Shikhar Dhawan has not turned positive in the Kovid-19 test and he will be seen representing the Indian team in the second T20 International against the hosts on Wednesday. According to the Indian Express report, the BCCI has added five net bowlers – Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore and Simranjit Singh – in the main squad for the remaining two matches.

A total of eight players will miss the second T20 International due to Krunal Pandya’s close contact. All eight players were tested for Kovid-19 on Tuesday and the result came negative, but are in isolation taking care of security.

According to the Indian Express report, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Prithvi Shaw, Deepak Chahar, Krishnappa Gautam, Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal are the seven players who came in close contact with Krunal Pandya. The BCCI on Tuesday confirmed that Krunal Pandya has tested positive for COVID-19. After this the second T20 International match was postponed.

The Indian team led by Dhawan can give a chance to many youngsters to debut in the second T20 International match. Let us tell you that India defeated Sri Lanka by 38 runs in the first T20 International match. While Dhawan could be seen opening the innings in the second T20 with either Ruturaj Gaikwad or Devdutt Padikkal, it remains to be seen whether Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes to the field. In Bhuvi’s absence, the net bowlers and Rahul Chahar and Kuldeep Yadav will have a chance to lead the Indian bowling attack.
