New Zealand pacer Tim Southee has said that it will take a few weeks for a strong team like India to enjoy the World Test Championship final victory. New Zealand won the title by defeating the world number one team India by eight wickets. Saudi also told that seeing the target on the last day, he did not think that it would take so long.

Saudi said, “It is wonderful to be a part of this team. We have been working hard for this for two years. Not only 15 players but also others who were in the team for the last five to six years. With everyone’s contribution, we got here.”

Saudi said, “We knew that the last day would be difficult. Three outcomes were possible and the first hour was crucial. By taking two wickets at that time, we created pressure.

He said, “I never thought that it would take so long to score 139 runs. Everyone was very nervous in the dressing room. However, there were two experienced batsmen at the crease who have been playing for seven to eight years. It was a difficult two-year journey, said opener Tom Latham.

He said, “I was part of the 2015 and 2019 World Cup squads. Coming so close we could not win. This time that regret was erased though the format was different. Nothing is better than winning the Test Championship. We played good cricket.”
