Antigua: In two separate incidents during the second T20 International against Pakistan here, two West Indies women cricketers Chinelle Henry and Chedian Nation fell unconscious briefly at the ground and were taken to hospital where their condition is “stable”. Both these incidents happened when the Pakistan team was chasing the target. Rain also disturbed the match played on Friday.

A statement from CWI (Cricket West Indies) said, “(fast bowler) Chinley Henry and (batsman) Chedian Nation were taken to hospital for medical attention. Henry and Nation are both conscious and stable in the hospital. They are under the supervision of doctors. West Indies continued the game with two alternate players in the field. He won the rain-affected match by seven runs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

‘It’s not very easy (playing) in those conditions,’ ESPN Cricinfo quoted West Indies head coach Courtney Walsh as saying. I am just happy that the team was able to register a win for both of those players. We are waiting to get more information about them.

Pakistan captain Javeria Khan wished both the West Indies players a speedy recovery. “The entire Pakistan team is praying for Chinley Henry and the Chedian Nation,” he said in a statement. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to play against him in our next match on Sunday.
