Colombo: There has been an uproar in Team India’s camp. Experienced leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and all-rounder Krishnappa Gautam have also been found to be Kovid-19 positive on the Sri Lanka tour. Both of them were among the 8 members who were in solitary confinement due to their close contact with Krunal Pandya. On July 27, Krunal Pandya turned out to be Kovid-19 positive. Now Chahal, Gautam and Krunal Pandya will stay in Colombo till all three get well.

Six other members in touch with Krunal Pandya – Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chahar and Ishan Kishan are likely to return to India today. The rest of the Indian team returned to India early in the morning. According to the report of Cricinfo, Chahal and Gautam were found to be Kovid-19 positive on Friday. It is worth mentioning that on Thursday, along with the other six members, the test of both of them also came negative.

While Krunal Pandya was immediately quarantined on July 27 after he came negative in the RT-PCR test, the remaining eight players were detained in a hotel room but kept separate from the rest of the team. Krunal Pandya has to remain isolated in Colombo for about a week and then after passing the mandatory test, he will be able to return to India. The same process will now apply to Chahal and Gautam.
