Mumbai: The makers of Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor starrer Bell Bottom have finally fixed the release date of the film. The spy thriller will hit the theaters on August 19 this year. The film has already been pushed several times due to the COVID situation in the country. It was supposed to hit the big screens in July and will now release in August.

Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share the news with his fans with a new motion poster of Bell Bottom and announced the release date. He tweeted, ‘Mission: To entertain you on the big screen… Date: August 19th, 2021… Announcing the arrival of #bellbottom!’

Directed by Ranjit M Tiwari, the film is inspired by true events. Akshay will be seen in a vintage action avatar as the film is set in the 1980s. Pooja Entertainment presents in association with Emme Entertainment ‘Bellbottom’ produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.

It is a spy thriller film also starring Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta. Lara will play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who was in power at the time. Vaani will play Akshay’s wife in the film. ‘Bell Bottom’ was the first major Bollywood film to start and finish its shooting during the pandemic. Vaani is seen opposite Akshay in the film for the first time.

The film is expected to remove the accumulated disappointment of the last two years from the theatres. Fans are already waiting for the release after a long time to go back to the theaters to relive the old times and experience the excitement.
