Colombo: India on Sunday won the first match of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 164 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Sri Lanka got off to a poor start chasing the target, but then the team recovered. It took a while that the Sri Lankan innings was in good shape and the team could win the match. In such a situation, fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled sharply and did not give the Sri Lankan players a chance to recover. He took 4 wickets for 22 runs in 3.3 overs. Bhuvi also made a big record as well.

Bhuvneshwar accomplished this feat

Bhuvneshwar Kumar accomplished a special feat in the first T20 through superb bowling. He has become the first Indian fast bowler to take 4 or more wickets on more than one occasion in T20 International cricket. He took 5 wickets for 24 runs in the T20 match played against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2018. After that Bhuvneshwar now took 4 wickets in front of Sri Lanka. At the same time, Bhuvneshwar has become the second Indian to take 4 or more wickets against a team in Test, ODI and T20 Internationals. Harbhajan had done this before him.

What did ‘Man of the Match’ Bhuvi say

After the Indian team won the first T20, Bhuvneshwar Kumar talked about his bowling. Bhuvi said that whatever I wanted to do, I implemented it completely. I am satisfied I played ODIs after a few months and then went into T20s. Coming from ODIs to T20s is not that difficult, yes it takes time to get into the rhythm. It was a good batting wicket and it helped the bowlers. It was difficult to bat against the spinners on this pitch. It is worth noting that Bhuvneshwar made his T20 International debut in the year 2012 and he has taken 49 wickets so far.
