Derbyshire: The county match between Derbyshire and Essex has been canceled after a member of Derbyshire was found to be Corona positive.

This is the third case when England’s premier domestic cricket has been interrupted due to Corona. Australia batsman Peter Handscomb was ruled out of the match between Middlesex and Leicestershire after being found to be Corona positive.

After a member of Kane’s team got corona infected, he had to field a new team for the match against Sussex. The identity of which player from Derbyshire has been hit by Corona has not been revealed and has been kept in isolation. His teammates have also been kept in isolation. Due to non-availability of suitable players to take the field, the umpires had to take a decision to cancel the match.

Derbyshire CEO Ryan Duquette said in a statement: “The cancellation of the match is disappointing. But the safety of players, staff and fans is paramount. Those who bought tickets for this match will get paid for this match and spectators need not contact the club, the statement said.
