New Delhi : Social media giant Facebook on Tuesday announced that it is launching Sensitive Content Control on Instagram, which allows users to decide how sensitive content appears in Explore. With this new feature, people will be able to shape Instagram the way they want.
“We’ve started to move in that direction with tools like the ability to turn off comments or block someone from interacting with you on Instagram,” Facebook said in a statement. Our Community Guidelines outline what types of content can be on Instagram. The purpose of these guidelines is to keep people safe. We do not allow inflammatory speech, bullying or other content that may harm people.’
Users will have control over sensitive content
It further states that there are specific rules regarding what kind of content is shown in places like Explore. We call these recommendation guidelines. These guidelines are designed to help ensure that we do not show you sensitive content from accounts you do not follow.
According to Facebook, users can take sensitive content as posts that do not necessarily violate the platform’s rules, but are likely to offend some people, such as posts that are sexually explicit Can be suggestive or violent.
“This new feature will give users control over sensitive content,” the statement said. You can decide to leave things as they are, or you can set up sensitive content controls to see more or less certain types of sensitive content. We recognize that everyone has different preferences for what they want to see in Explore and this control will give people more choice over what they see.
How to use this feature?
To see your Sensitive Content Control, you need to go to your profile and tap on the Settings menu in the upper right corner. Tap Account and then tap Sensitive Content Controls. Here you can decide whether to keep the setting at its default state, limit or limit viewing, allow or reduce or further limit certain types of sensitive content.
You can also change your selection at any time. However there is no exception to this. The ‘Allow’ option will not be available for people below 18 years of age. “We hope this gives you more options and another way to make Instagram better for you,” Facebook said.
