Gavaskar told, how England will have to perform to return to the series

The first Test was washed out due to rain but in the second Test of the series played at Lord’s, the Indian fast bowlers performed brilliantly and climbed over England and gave the team victory by 151 runs in a spectacular manner. In such a situation, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, while discussing the return of England in the series, has said that England will have to perform more than its capacity. The England team kept their grip for most of the time in the second Test but the match slipped out of their hands at the last minute and had to face defeat.

On the final day of the match, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah laid the foundation for the victory of the Indian team by sharing an unbeaten 89-run partnership for the 9th wicket. After this, bowling brilliantly in the remaining 60 overs, England got all out and put the victory in its lap. In such a situation, Gavaskar believes that the Indian team has gained a psychological edge against England by securing a resounding victory at Lord’s. It will not be easy for England to recover from this psychological setback.

Only by doing this will she be able to present a challenge to the Indian team in the upcoming matches. Top order is becoming trouble for England
Describing England’s weakness, Gavaskar said, their top order is becoming a problem for the team. Their openers have not been successful in giving the team a strong start. For this reason, the team has failed to score big scores. Apart from captain Joe Root, no other English player has been able to stay on the pitch. The team is completely dependent on his performance. Root has scored 64, 109, 180 and 33 runs in the first two Test matches. In such a situation, after the dismissal of Root, the England team starts struggling and this is the reason for the biggest problem for the team.

The team that is excessively dependent on the route
The former captain of Team India further said, on the fifth day of the Lord’s Test, everyone had the same thing in their mind that England would win the match. It is also difficult to score 180 runs on the last day of the match. In such a situation, his team was bundled out for just 120 runs and lost the match by a huge margin. His batting is heavily dependent on Joe Root. If he does not handle the innings, then it does not take long for the team to collapse.
