Kingston: Young West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seals created history by taking five wickets in an innings on the fourth day of the first Test against Pakistan on Sunday. Seals, playing the third Test of his career, took five wickets for 55 runs in 15.4 overs including three maidens in Pakistan’s second innings in the first Test and broke a 71-year-old record. Jayden Seals has become the youngest West Indies bowler to take five wickets in an innings of a Test match.
At the age of 19 years and 336 days, Seals did this feat and broke the record set by Alfred Valentine in 1950. In 1950, when Valentine took five wickets in an innings, his age was 20 years and 41 days. Now this record has become in the name of Jayden Seals. The third place in this list is held by Dwayne Bravo, who took five wickets in an innings in 2004 at the age of 20 years and 310 days.
In 2002, Jermaine Lawson took five wickets in an innings when he was 20 years and 329 days old. He is at the fourth place in this list. In 2009, Kemar Roach completed the top-5 of this list. Roach’s age was 21 years and 17 days.
