Kusal Perera| IND vs SL: Kusal Perera out of India vs Sri Lanka series due to shoulder injury

The Indian cricket team is ready to play a limited overs cricket series (IND vs SL) on Sri Lankan soil under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. While the Indian team is gearing up before the start of the ODI and T20 series, the Sri Lankan team has suffered a setback just before the series. Their star player and former captain Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the series.

Sri Lankan team’s leading batsman Kusal Perera will miss the series against India starting July 18 due to injury. Perera was the captain of the Sri Lankan team touring England but due to a contract dispute between the players and the board, Dasun Shanaka was made the captain as Shanaka was the first player to sign the contract.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, “Kusal Perera is set to be out of the series against India. He has a shoulder injury. The team did not elaborate on the injury. He has not been officially ruled out but the team doctor said that he will have to be out for six weeks.

Indian cricket team is going to enter this series with many young players. There are many players who have been gifted with a good performance in the IPL and will try to get noticed by the selectors for the T20 World Cup 2021. While the command of the team is in the hands of Shikhar Dhawan, the vice-captain will be Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Both the players will fulfill these responsibilities for the first time.
