- Michael Vaughan, who criticized Team India every day, reprimanded his own team
- Vaughan is also shocked after the humiliating defeat against India in the Lord’s Test
Michael Vaughan lashes out on England cricket team: Former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan is one of those critics of Team India and Indian players who leave no opportunity to criticize him. Be it the dismissal of captain Virat Kohli or giving a sharp reaction on any Indian pitch, he has always been trolled on social media for criticizing Team India. But now slowly they are getting less such opportunities. After defeating Australia on their own land, now the Indian team is dominating against England on the same land. Vaughan’s tone has also changed after England’s defeat in the Lord’s Test.
Michael Vaughan tried a lot but the 151-run defeat against India in the Lord’s Test is not digesting him. He remained calm for some time but now in an interview he has openly vented his anger on the England team. He did not even have anything to say against the Indian team, so this former flamboyant captain has targeted his team fiercely.
Criticism of Joe Root, ridiculing strategy like this
Michael Vaughan has lashed out at the one player in the entire England team, about whom his fans and former legends were proud. Michael Vaughan scoffed at the strategy of captain Joe Root, who scored a brilliant century in the first innings, and looked pity for England’s condition. “When Jasprit Bumrah was batting, there was more fielder on the boundary than Rishabh Pant. How can it be when you have guys like Joe Root and James Anderson who have played over 100 Test matches,” he said.
Bouncer’s planning failed
When Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were standing on the pitch with their pegs in the second innings, the England team tried to scare them with bouncers but this strategy backfired. To this Vaughan said, “Boundaries were going everywhere. I don’t know what they (England players) were thinking. When you are under pressure the best strategy is to keep things normal and calm. You were bowling against the tail, hit the ball over the stumps, not keep it short and wide.
The first Test match of the current Test series against England was played at Nottingham (Trent Bridge) and there too the Indian team looked to dominate England. The rain did not allow the match to be completed otherwise India’s victory there also seemed certain. Well, India won it in the second Test by venting anger and now they have taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The third Test starts on August 25 at Headingley, if India wins there then at least England can’t win this series, can dream of more and more draws.
