Kolkata: Former Indian team captain Sourav Ganguly inspired many youngsters during his playing days and one of them is former wicketkeeper batsman Deep Dasgupta. On the occasion of Sourav Ganguly’s 49th birthday, Dasgupta revealed a story, which proves how mentally strong Sourav Ganguly is.

On the evening of the Test match against Zimbabwe in 2002, then Indian captain Sourav Ganguly had said that if he failed to score, it would be his last match. Dasgupta could not believe it as Ganguly was the captain and it was difficult to drop him. But the next day Ganguly went to bat and scored a brilliant century. This proved that he knows how to succeed under pressure. Dasgupta became crazy about his captain that the way he faced the pressure and then showed mental strength.
