Sri Lanka Cricket released the annual contract list of players, not many big names

Colombo: The Sri Lanka Cricket Board on Friday released the annual contract list of national players till the end of 2021. The board has included 18 players in this contract list. These contracts will come into effect from August 1, but it does not include the names of many big players of the team.

The names of well-known players like former captain Angelo Mathews, Dhanushka Gunathilaka, Kushal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella are not included in the contract list released for five months. Although Angelo Mathews is not available for selection, the other three players are facing a ban for violating the Corona protocol.

After the release of the contract list, the board issued a statement saying, the players have signed the contract without any protest. No changes have been made to the terms of this contract. Its terms are similar to the old contract, which was prepared by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board in collaboration with the Technical Advisory Committee.

According to the board, the players nominated by the selection committee have been classified into four categories. The classification has been done on the basis of four parameters performance, fitness, seniority and code of conduct. The players were informed about the points and classification before the contract was signed.

Dhananjay D’Silva, Kushal Perera, Dimuth Karunaratne, Suranga Lakmal, Dashun Shanaka, Vaindu Hasaranga, Lasith Ambuldeniya, Pathum Nisaka, Lahiru Thiramane, Dusmantha Chamira, Dinesh Chandimal, Lakshan Sandakan, Vishwa Fernando, Oshadis Kumar in Bhandar, Ashesh Ramesh, Lasith Ambuldeniya, Pathum Nisaka Akila Dhananjay.
