Zimbabwe scored 276 runs in the first innings on the third day of the one-off Test against Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club. Bangladesh scored 45 runs without losing a wicket in the second innings till the end of the day’s play and took a total lead of 237 runs.

Bangladesh’s first innings ended on 468 on the second day. Till the stumps, Shadman Islam 22 runs off 52 balls with the help of two fours and Saif Hasan 20 runs off 52 balls with the help of three fours are present at the crease.

Earlier, Zimbabwe started the innings at 114 runs with one wicket as skipper Brendan Taylor scored 37 runs off 46 balls with the help of six fours and Takudjawanase Kaitano scored 33 runs off 117 balls with the help of four fours. There was a partnership of 115 runs for the second wicket between the two batsmen.

However, Taylor was dismissed for 81 runs off 92 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six. Zimbabwe then lost the wickets of Dion Mears (27), Maruma (0) and Roy Kaiya (0). Shortly after this Kaitano was also dismissed after scoring 87 runs in 311 balls with the help of nine fours.

Zimbabwe’s innings faltered as soon as Kaitano was dismissed. Bangladesh took a lead of 192 runs in the first innings. Regis Chakabwa remained unbeaten on 31 runs off 71 balls with the help of two fours and a six in Zimbabwe’s innings. For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan took five wickets, Shakib Al Hasan four and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket.
