Colombo: Former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Kusal Perera will miss the full limited overs series against India due to injury while pacer Binura Fernando has been ruled out of the ODI series.
Sri Lanka Cricket gave this information on Friday. Perera has a strain on his right shoulder while Fernando sprained his ankle during practice. Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement, ‘Kusal Perera will miss the ODI and T20 series against India due to injury. There is a strain in his right shoulder. Fast bowler Binura Fernando has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a sprain in his left ankle. The six-match limited overs series will begin on July 18 with the first ODI.
Sri Lanka has a very poor record against India
Sri Lanka are facing one setback after another and in such a situation, it looks difficult for them to win the upcoming series against the Indian team. The Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan is considered to be a strong contender to win the three-match ODI series.
