After ending the 41-year medal drought of the Indian men’s hockey team, an old tweet of former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni has gone viral.

MS Dhoni had made a tweet in October 2014, in which he had given his reaction to the Indian men’s hockey team’s gold medal win in the Asian Games. MS Dhoni was captaining Chennai Super Kings in the Champions League at that time in 2014. Under his leadership, Super Kings defeated Kings XI Punjab in the second semi-final and secured a place in the final.

The Chennai-based franchise had defeated Punjab in the semi-final, but MS Dhoni tweeted after the match for the hockey team, which won the Asian Games gold medal by defeating Pakistan in the final. Dhoni had tweeted, ‘Had a great day today, not because CSK reached the final. Because the Indian hockey team won the gold medal. Thank you for making us feel proud.

Indian hockey team made a strong comeback after falling behind

Indian men’s hockey team performed brilliantly against Germany in the bronze medal match. At one point the Indian team was trailing 1-3. However, the team did not give up and retaliated strongly by scoring four consecutive goals. Rupinder Pal Singh, Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Simranjit Singh scored for the Indian men’s hockey team. Germany scored a goal in the fourth quarter to reduce the gap to 4-5, but the Indian team managed to maintain their lead till the last minute and won the match.
