The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly said that it is not possible to wear a mask all the time in Britain after the relief in health related protocols. He supported the Indian team in this way in which Rishabh Pant got infected with Coronavirus during the team’s 20-day break. Ganguly also argued that spectators were also allowed to enter the stadium during the Euro 2020 Championship and Wimbledon Championships.
Apart from wicketkeeper Pant, throwdown specialist Dayanand Jarani has also tested positive for COVID-19 and both of them are in isolation in London. Three others Abhimanyu Easwaran, Wriddhiman Saha and bowling coach Bharat Arun are also in isolation, although all three have tested negative.
Ganguly, who is in Muscat to oversee preparations for the T20 World Cup, told News18, “We saw the Euro Championship and Wimbledon in England. The rules have changed (the spectators have been allowed to enter the stadium). They were on holidays and it is not possible to wear masks all the time. ”Ganguly is confident that Pant and Jarani will recover in time. He told the website, “Nothing to worry about. They’ll be fine.”
