South Africa batted first and scored 168 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. In reply West Indies team could score 143 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. With this, the Proteas team defeated the West Indies 3-2 in their home series of five T20 Internationals. Aiden Markram (48 balls, 3 fours, 4 sixes, 70 runs) was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant innings.

Chasing the target of 169 runs, West Indies did not have a good start. Opener Lendl Simmons (3) was sent lbw to the dugout by George Linde.
