Earlier, in a statement issued by the ICC, it was said that, “The winner of the ICC World Test Championship final between Team India and New Zealand will receive the Test Championship Mace along with $1.6 million in prize money.” Played in a cycle of almost two years, the losing team in the final of this championship will get $800,000 (approximately Rs.5.86 crore) for finishing second in the nine-team event.

How much will the rest of the teams get?

The International Cricket Council (ICC) had said that the third-place team among the nine competing nations would receive a check of $4.5 million (approximately Rs. 2.5 crores). Apart from this, the fifth place team will get two lakh dollars (about Rs 1.46 crore) while the remaining four teams will get one lakh dollars (about Rs 73 lakh) each.
