Dhaka: Man of the match Afif Hossain (37*) and Mustafizur Rahman (3 wickets) helped Bangladesh beat Australia by 5 wickets with 8 balls to spare in the second T20I on Wednesday. In the match played in Dhaka, Australia batted first and scored 121 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target in 18.4 overs for the loss of five wickets. With this, Bangladesh has taken a 2-0 lead in the series of five T20 Internationals. The third T20 International match of the series will be played on Friday.

Chasing the target of 122 runs, Bangladesh started very poorly. Soumya Sarkar could not even open the account and returned to the dugout clean bowled by Starc. Josh Hazlewood clean bowled the second opener Mohammad Naeem (9). Shakib Al Hasan (26) and Mehdi Hasan (23) tried to take over Bangladesh’s innings after two wickets fell for 21 runs.
