India and England will meet in a 5-match Test series from August 4. But before the start of the series, the Indian camp is battling with injuries. Three Indian players Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Avesh are injured. Gill has a shin injury (front part of the leg below the knee), Sundar has a finger injury while Avesh has a fractured thumb. In such a situation, due to less number of players in the squad, it is expected that the Indian selectors can send some players to England.

Opener Shubman Gill’s injury was the first setback for the Indian team and the team management requested Prithvi Shaw or Devdutt Padikkal to be sent as cover at the earliest. However, then any player was refused to be sent to England. But later due to continuous injuries to the players, the selectors were left with no other option but to send the players. It is being said that Prithvi Shaw (105) and Suryakumar Yadav (124 runs), who performed brilliantly in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, can be sent to England. Along with this, Jayant Yadav can also go to England.

BCCI selection committee considering

According to the Indian Express report, Suryakumar and Jayant are likely to accompany Shaw. All three may go to England soon. With Sundar and Avesh ruled out of the entire Test series, the BCCI selection committee is considering it. Avesh went on the tour of England as a net bowler, so his replacement is not required at the moment. Sundar is expected to be replaced by Jayant. While vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane is reportedly suffering from a hamstring problem, Suryakumar may go to England in his place. However, it is not yet known when the three players will leave for England.
