Karachi: Former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan has resigned as the batting coach of the national team. Younis was appointed to the position in November 2020 and had a contract till the T20 World Cup 2022. But within seven months, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Younis decided to part ways.
Younis Khan’s first tour was to New Zealand when Pakistan lost the Test series. After this, Pakistan defeated South Africa at their home and then defeated the Proteas at their home. The last tour of Pakistan under the guidance of Younis Khan was in Zimbabwe, where the team led by Babar Azam performed brilliantly. 43-year-old Younis Khan has given a blow to the Pakistan team by resigning ahead of the tour of England. Now the Pakistan team will leave for the UK on June 25 without a batting coach.
However, the PCB is hopeful that a new batting coach will be appointed before the West Indies tour. Pakistan’s tour of England will end on July 20. After this, she will go on the Caribbean tour to play five T20 Internationals and two Test matches.
Wasim Khan thanks Younis for his contribution
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan has thanked Younis Khan for his contribution to the team. He expressed the hope that the experienced cricketers will definitely give their services to the team in future. Issuing a statement, Wasim Khan has confirmed that both the parties have decided to part ways, making it clear that all is not well off the field between PCB and Younis Khan.

I would like to thank Younis Khan for making a great contribution to the Pakistan national team in a short span of time. Hopefully he will be available to share his knowledge with the budding cricketers. Both PCB and Younis Khan have denied any comment on the matter.
