Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kisan has been in the limelight for playing a blistering half-century on ODI debut. In the first ODI against Sri Lanka, he scored 59 runs in 42 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. He made fifty in just 33 balls. Ishan’s stormy batsman can be gauged from the fact that he had hit the first ball of his innings. He did so off the fourth ball of the sixth over bowled by Dhananjay de Silva. Ishan has become the first player to hit a six off the first ball of ODI debut since 2001.

How did you get into the mood to hit a six off the first ball?

Significantly, Sri Lanka had set a target of 263 runs in front of India, which India achieved in 36.4 overs. Batting at number three, Ishan stayed till the 18th over.
