third test against india (India vs England 3rd Test) On Wednesday, David Malan made a comeback in the England team, while fast bowler Saqib Mahmood has also been added to the team. Opener Dom Sibley, however, has been dropped from the team. England retained injured fast bowler Mark Wood in the 15-man squad. The team is hopeful that he will be fit for the third Test starting on August 25 in Leeds. Jack Crowley has not been included in the team. India have taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after winning the second Test at Lord’s by 151 runs. The first match of the series was washed out by rain in Nottingham.

David Malan is returning to the Test team after three years. The last Test he played was against India in August 2018 at Edgbaston, in which England won. England head coach Chris Silverwood said, “David Malan deserves a return to the Test format. He has a lot of experience in all formats and I am sure he will do well at his home ground if given a chance.

Referring to Wood, the head coach said, “After a right shoulder injury in the first Test, we are hopeful that Mark Wood will be fit. Our medical team is working with him. When we go to Leeds we will see how his condition is.” Saqib Mahmood is awaiting his Test debut. The twenty-four-year-old fast bowler was included in the reserve players during England’s tour of Sri Lanka and India.
